About us

The Lake Michigan Sampler Guild meets the second or third Sunday of each month. Occasionally a month is skipped when our meeting date falls on a holiday (for example Easter in April or Mother’s day in May). We meet at several locations in in northeast Illinois including the Wheaton Community Center, the Barrington Public Library, and the Palatine Public Library. Meetings usually start at 1:00 PM, except for our December Holiday Party which is usually at noon. Please check our program list for meeting dates, times and locations.

Throughout the year, members can attend programs presented at general meetings given by our members and sometimes virtually using Zoom.  When a kit is distributed at a general meeting, there may a kit charge if you choose to participate. Occasionally, the guild sponsors special events like lectures and field trips which may not be scheduled on regular meeting days. Workshops are sometimes offered. For each workshop, there will be a kit fee and teaching fee. Instructions for workshop registration will be in our member newsletter. Learn more about our meetings in our photo galleries.

LMSG was founded in 1998 and our website was started in 2009. Please see our archives for historical information about the guild.
